About the Author

Chef Eric Teo grew up in a humble family with a simple lifestyle yet is filled with fond memories. His favorite childhood memories are rooted in Singapore’s hawker food.

He remembers when he went with his mother to the wet market, always asking to detour to the hawker stalls. His mom would pamper him by buying him local food from these delicious hawkers. Favorite hawker dishes like Chye tau kueh, mee rebus, mee siam, Hokkien mee, Tau Suan have always lingered in his mind to this day.

His mom knew his love for hawker food and would always go through the extra effort to make it from scratch for him.
